Psalm 72 // Our Perfect King

“Psalm 72 is about God reigning forever. Verse 1 talks about the son, Jesus, and so I wanted to depict Jesus ruling over all. The bloody hand and golden, bejeweled crown point to Him. Verse 3 mentions mountains and verses 6 and 16 mention grass, so I wanted to create a beautiful and vibrant mountainous landscape. Verse 8 talks about God ruling from sea to sea and verse 10 includes shores, and several of the verses point to God reigning over all, so I painted people from all nations gathering at the shores to worship.”
