Psalm 73 // Life Ain’t Fair

“Psalm 73 is a cry of lament to God that the wicked are prospering while the psalmist feels unseen and forgotten. However, the psalmist comes to realize that the wicked are ultimately headed towards downfall, while the psalmist is held by God forever.

In the bottom part of the image, there are tall towers going up in smoke, with a crown breaking apart and falling from the heights. The wicked are reaching for the crown, but they cannot reach it, and they have nothing left because all of their earthly riches have gone up in flames. This represents how any earthly riches that we may acquire are ultimately worth nothing. In the top part of the image, I have depicted a night sky because I personally feel the most in awe of the greatness and majesty of God when I stare up at the sky. There is a person who is reaching out into the sky, which represents the one who is crying out to God in prayer, and realizing that they ALWAYS have God no matter what comes.”
