GLOBAL
“As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you” (John 20:21).
Anyone who is redeemed by Jesus is simultaneously commissioned, or sent, by Jesus. Therefore, part of each Christian’s identity is being a sent one—sent into the world to join Christ in his mission today—to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19).
God promises that one day there will be a people from “every tribe and language and people and nation” worshiping him (Revelation 5:9). This vision becomes reality when the church believes that they are sent ones.
At Providence, we believe all God’s commands and promises are for us, including the global command to make disciples of all nations. The gospel of Jesus Christ has overcome darkness and death, holds the power of forgiveness and life, and will set free his people around the world. If we truly believe this, we must also believe that God's call to global mission includes us, which is why we have many ways to live this out by the teams listed below. Together, we labor as sent ones until the mission is complete.
