Psalm 85 // Revive Us Again
“I chose, in this artwork, to represent the theme of restoring (verse 4) and reviving (verse 6) the people to God’s covenant, to His salvation of forgiving iniquity, covering sin, and withdrawing His wrath that the Psalmist speaks of in verses 1-3. This “bringing back” is described in the Psalm as fruitfulness being brought to the land which is why I chose the contrast between death and life within nature. On one side is a dying land outside of the covenant, under God’s wrath. On the other side is a fruitful land full of God’s glory. The footsteps going across the artwork represent verse 13 with righteousness leading the way into life with God.”
