Psalm 88 // God's Enduring Promises
“Psalm 88 is a cry from the depths of sorrow. Unlike many psalms that move from suffering into hope or resolution, this one ends in darkness. The psalmist feels abandoned, overwhelmed, and unseen, pleading with God while carrying the weight of grief that seems unending. Yet even in the silence, he continues to speak to the Lord.
In this piece, I wanted to portray a map of the dark places the psalmist has experienced. The artwork is meant to capture the feelings Christians can sometimes face—being consumed by overwhelming thoughts, drowning in sorrow with seemingly nowhere to escape, and feeling as though darkness has become a close companion.”
